Cable Bay Awatere Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2017

$24.00 $21.60

This is a complex and vibrant wine, conveying all the characteristics of a faultless  growing season by the Awatere river. Rocket flowers, passionfruit, papaya, lime  and smokey chicory aromas come together to form a wonderful nose. The palate is finely textured, with a chalky mineral element giving it maximum dimension, focused acidity and great overall balance. Refreshing and fulfilling, it is a lovely expression of our vineyard. Match with South East Asian style dishes, fresh and vibrant flavours.

Cable Bay Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2016

$29.00 $26.10

PPapaya, gooseberry, vanilla and guava aromas all come together in a striking fusion with hints of flinty struck match. The palate has a lovely toasty backbone surrounded by zesty acidity, pith like phenolics and nice fruit weight through the mid-palate. The finish goes on and on for miles, I can still taste it now; 10 minutes later. This fumé blanc style sauvignon makes its own rules; the freshly pressed tuxedo might be a classic, but the shoes are Converse.  Suits any occasion, but pairs particularly well with seafood dishes.  Enjoy now and for the next 5-10 years.

Cable Bay Waiheke Island Syrah 2017

$49.00 $44.10

A little less bolshie than last season’s blend, this little number favours the classical scene over jazz. Boysenberry, red plum, cracked pepper with hints of cocoa . The palate is full bodied, with juicy fruit and spice paving the way to great mouthfeel and sculpted tannin structure. It has great integration, even in it’s infancy, it’s harmonious, the length prodigious. Food match, black tea smoked lamb.

Cable Bay Waiheke Island Viognier 2017

$35.00 $33.25

Bush honey, apricot, spicy orange zest, lemonade and elderflower aromatics combine to form a rich, delightful nose. The use of French Acacia and Oak barrels, coupled with ageing on yeast lees, has imparted an extra dimension to the flavour profile of this wine; lovely texture with spicy complexity, juicy fruit and balancing acidity. Grape skin contact before pressing has created its heartening phenolic structure. A softhearted golden girl with unwavering backbone. Never one to be content in the background, she is quick witted and overflowing with personality. Enjoy with goat cheese tortellini with smokey bacon lardons and parmesan. Enjoyable upon release this wine will reward cellaring of a further 3 years.

Carrick Wines Bannockburn Pinot Gris 2017

$28.00 $25.20

A wonderful textural element on the palate that is reflective of an Alsatian style while retaining a clean acidity that is a hallmark of our windblown glacial soils on the Cairnmuir terraces in Bannockburn. Subtle blossom aromas with flavours of white nectarine close to the stone are evident. A lovely structural white wine that sits nicely in the glass, perfect as a late afternoon aperitif.  Pair with South East Asian cuisine and enjoy.

Carrick Wines Bannockburn Riesling 2016

$28.00 $25.20

A limited season due to low crops has produced an intense and brilliant vintage. This is a beautifully aromatic wine with Jasmine, apricot and white blossoms filling the glass. On the palate this wine exhibits excellent fruit purity and excellent balance. Like a juicy Naval Orange, the flesh and texture of this Riesling is a real joy to us. Refreshing and perfect as an aperitif, match with your favorite seafood dish or simply serve with a good salty hard cheese, cantaloupe and parma ham. Drink now.

Carrick Wines EBM Chardonnay 2016

$48.00 $43.20

The additional six months in neutral oak on light sediments increases the depth of the mouth feel found in the mid palate. This added texture, coupled with the fruit and restrained acidity, ultimately leads to a long seamless finish. A very well balanced wine – a great accompaniment to fresh food with clean ingredients.

This wine displays lots of vibrant fruit from red cherry, raspberry to blackberries with a hint of spice underneath. The front palate is packed with sweet bright fruit with the same red cherries and blackberries on the nose following through to the flavours. Cottier Estate Emily Chardonnay 2016

$22.50 $21.38

A classic wine of Gladstone terroir.  This year maintains the standard with the wine’s mouth filling richness and intensity.  The palate continues to be classic with traditional wine making techniques unchanged.  Regular lees stirring in best French barriques is enhanced by secondary fermentation in Springtime.  Toasty oak with beautiful peaches and cream.  A touch of minerality, but with a silky finish.  Excellent balance.

On the palate, medium bodied with light crisp flavours of pears and a touch of citrus.  This beautiful, pale gold coloured wine exudes a lovely aroma of fresh fruit with a garnish of spice.  Will naturally accompany dishes Vietnamese style, perhaps barbecued Blue Cod or even duck.  This wine is drinking well now and hold up well for another three to five years.

Cottier Estate Pinot Noir 2014

$29.50 $26.55

The small quantities of fruit used to create Cottier Pinot Noir have created a delicious wine with deep intensity. Complexity is added with subtle overtones of savoury oak, the result of 12 months in the finest French barriques. Deep, bright ruby red. Light berry fruits and redcurrants on the nose, with a hint of vanilla. Juicy dark fruits on the palate with a smooth, warm mouthfeel. A measured touch of oak provides a pleasant balance to the fruit flavours, offering a wonderfully smooth finish.
