Cable Bay Waiheke Island Syrah 2017

$49.00 $44.10

A little less bolshie than last season’s blend, this little number favours the classical scene over jazz. Boysenberry, red plum, cracked pepper with hints of cocoa . The palate is full bodied, with juicy fruit and spice paving the way to great mouthfeel and sculpted tannin structure. It has great integration, even in it’s infancy, it’s harmonious, the length prodigious. Food match, black tea smoked lamb.

Cable Bay Waiheke Island Viognier 2017

$35.00 $33.25

Bush honey, apricot, spicy orange zest, lemonade and elderflower aromatics combine to form a rich, delightful nose. The use of French Acacia and Oak barrels, coupled with ageing on yeast lees, has imparted an extra dimension to the flavour profile of this wine; lovely texture with spicy complexity, juicy fruit and balancing acidity. Grape skin contact before pressing has created its heartening phenolic structure. A softhearted golden girl with unwavering backbone. Never one to be content in the background, she is quick witted and overflowing with personality. Enjoy with goat cheese tortellini with smokey bacon lardons and parmesan. Enjoyable upon release this wine will reward cellaring of a further 3 years.

Man O’ War Bellerophon Syrah 2016

$61.00 $54.90

After our experience with the 2012 Bellerophon we were able to craft a wine from 2014 that will not only live up to the expectations created by the 2012 Bellerophon but will substantially exceed those expectations. The 2014 Bellerophon is classically structured with an intensely fragrant nose of violets, raspberries and white pepper. Careful management of the stem and Viognier components has resulted in a palate that is soft and elegant exhibiting flavours of ripe red berries. All of which is encased by the distinctive stem tannins giving a lifted freshness and lenght to the finish. The wine is incredibly approachable in its youth but will age gracefully developing more savoury earthy and smoked meat characters with time.

Man O’ War Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2017

$25.00 $22.50

The 2016 Sauvignon blanc is a stylish vintage with typical in its herbaceous aromas, tight acidity and ample texture. Typical of Waiheke Sauvignon blanc, our 2016 Estate Savvy is perfect with a year or two of age allowing the wine to mellow and showcase the wines structure and longevity. The wine is conveying the volcanic influence in the soil through its minerality and elevated acidity which is well balanced with texture from the barrel influence and ripe fruit tannins extracted from the skins in the cloudy ferments. This wine is bottled and protected under screw cap as we believe it is the best closure for quality wine.
