Overview
Askerne Pinot Noir 2021 is a beautifully crafted wine, showcasing a blend of select clones grown on the sandy silt soils of the top terrace of Askerne Vineyard. A combination of Clone 777 (35%), Clone 5 (28%), Clone 667 (20%), and Abel (17%) was fermented separately in open-top tanks, with a 10% whole cluster component to add complexity. Following gentle extraction through plunging, the wine was aged for 9 months in French oak barriques, where it completed malolactic fermentation. The final blend incorporates 17% new French oak and 17% second-fill oak, resulting in a well-balanced and refined wine.
