Domain Road Sauvignon Blanc 2016

$24.00 $21.60

The Sauvignon Blanc shows attractive aromas of pink grapefruit, gooseberry, pineapple and hints of capsicum on the nose.  A mouth filling wine with good weight and texture on the palate, well balanced with great length on the finish. Food matches, fish and seafood.

4 STARS – Raymond Chan

A sheltered north-facing valley on the upper terraces above the Kawarau River at Bannockburn is home to Domain Road Vineyard. The unique terroir with unusual soils and distinctive microclimate make this old gold mining area ideal for producing premium cool climate wines. The Sauvignon Blanc vines are planted in two locations – on Templar’s Hill, untouched by the 19th century gold miners and on Doctor’s Flat, where mining has exposed rich mineral clays atop a 10-million year old lake bed.  A portion of the juice was fermented in older french oak barriques.
