Grapes for this wine were sourced from low yielding vines growing in gravel vineyard sites, ideally suited to Cabernet. The Merlot was sourced from a blend of heavier and stonier soils to add depth to the mid palate and balance the wine. Shoot thinning, leaf removal and fruit thinning throughout the season, followed by hand picking ensures only the finest quality grapes.
Natural use of oxygen management at the correct times and a combination of older French oak barrels ensures a beautifully crafted soft, supple, approachable wine. Aging for 12 months in older French oak barrels has added structure and depth. Unfined and unfiltered, natural sedimentation may occur.
