Overview:
Ata Rangi Te Wā Sauvignon Blanc is a sophisticated and distinctive expression of its cool-climate terroir. Grown in the stony, alluvial gravels of Martinborough Terrace, it reflects the unique conditions of the land with a balance of intense aromas and complexity. The 2024 vintage benefitted from optimal conditions, allowing the wine to capture both aromatic purity and a textured palate.
Tasting Notes:
The wine opens with vibrant aromas of lime, rosemary, jasmine, and sherbet, enhanced by a hint of cashew nuts and gouda cheese. These savoury notes lead into a rich, textured palate with remarkable length. A small portion of the blend undergoes whole-bunch and skin fermentation, adding depth and complexity to the wine. A truly unique and compelling take on Sauvignon Blanc, far from the typical New Zealand style.
