Overview:
The Maude 2022 Mohawk Hill Pinot Noir is a standout expression of the Central Otago terroir, hailing from the Lowburn Vineyard in Cromwell. This vineyard, located at an elevation of 220 metres, is steeped in history, with the hill once known as Mohawk Hill, named by the workers who constructed the Clyde Dam. The 2022 vintage is the largest and most luscious of Maude’s single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, crafted from carefully selected clones and a portion of whole clusters. The season’s favourable conditions—timely rains, warm dry periods, and a cooler finish to the season—produced a healthy crop, smaller berry sizes, and exceptional flavour development. This Pinot Noir showcases the richness and elegance of Central Otago, offering a complex and crowd-pleasing wine.
