Domain Road Vineyard is located in the heart of an historic gold mining area in Bannockburn, Central Otago. The vineyard is in a sheltered sunny valley and is one of several vineyards in the desirable Bannockburn area. Predominantly planted with Pinot Noir the vineyard also has plantings of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling.

The continental type climate gives hot dry summers, long cool autumns and very cold winters. Soil types are good quality loam on schist gravels and ‘pipeclay’ (named for the white clay used to make tobacco pipes by the early gold miners).

Domain Road Vineyard is owned by the Crosbie family who were originally drawn to the area as a quiet holiday destination not far from Queenstown or Wanaka. For over 20 years the owners have enjoyed family holidays in Bannockburn enjoying its hot summers and crisp clear autumn days. The glowing red and gold colours of the autumn vines and trees contrasted with the spectacular landscape of historic goldfields and mountains makes Bannockburn a very special place to be.
