The International Wine Challenge is held annually by Wine Magazine. It compares wines from all over the world and is claimed to be the world's largest blind tasting. No account is taken of price in the judging, only quality with high priced wines being judged alongside and against low priced ones.
From the 9,358 wines entered into the 2007 International Wine Challenge, 260 met the judges exacting standards to win a coveted gold medal - 15 of them from New Zealand. From the 260 gold medal winners a total of 84 wines won a distinguished IWC Trophy - 6 of them from New Zealand.
